Our second baby is coming sometime around the beginning of September 2006. |

We are truly blessed! |

They say, every pregnancy is different. And so here's a little journal on how my second pregnancy goes. |
Week 4 Came down with a terrible tummy pain that night. I think it was some sort of gastritis. And somehow my instinct was right! Used 2 home-test kits on that same day and it was positive! (not sure why I had the tummy pain in the first place, though) |
Week 5 Everything was still 'normal' and nice. |
Week 8 This time round, my morning sickness kicked in rather early. It all started in week 6. Couldn't each much at all. Excessive saliva. Felt bloated 24 hours / day. Frequent gagging. And of course, fatigue. Also, the thought of cooking and having it for lunch / dinner is beyond my imagination! (unless if it's Anya's meal of course) |
Week 9 Decided not to go with my previous doctor, Dr W.K. Tan, due to her super long waiting time. With Anya around, it's just not possible to wait 2-3 hours for a 10-minute consultation. Dr Tan was great but I just had to find another doctor. Finally, after much research and consideration (and inputs from friends!), we found Dr Wong Mun Tat! And we decided to appoint him as my obstetrician. |
Week 11 Haven't gain much weight! Excessive saliva and gagging continue. Increase in appetite (Yay!) and I feel there's less wind in my tummy too! Still can't do 'heavy' cooking stuff. Updated my babycenter.com's profile and voila, I'm getting free newsletters and insights into my baby's weekly development and other pregnancy stuff again. |
Week 13 Into my 3rd month now. Gained about 0.5kg, I think (old&unreliable weighing scale!) Can now tolerate cooking (though not always) Less gagging and excessive saliva (Yay!) Less fatique and more energy (again, though not all the time) |
Week 16 Felt a few little 'swirls'!! (exact date: 24 March, around 10pm). Kinda early, since I felt Anya's first movement when I was 22 weeks pregnant. But then again, this is my 2nd pregnancy and people say you get to notice the baby's movement much earlier. Gained about 0.5 - 1kg so far (not sure of the exact kilos!) |
Week 17 Went to see the doctor for another check-up. Really hoped we could find out if it's baby girl or a boy from the scan But ... oops, the baby somehow refused to open up its legs. Sigh. Oh well, ... just gotta be patient now. The baby's weight and growth is going great! BUT I lost 0.4kg since 3 weeks ago! Weird! I guess I have to try and get a bit more rest? (*sigh* I only hope I can though) |
Week 19 Gained a total of 2kg so far! (based on my OLD weighing scale, that is) Yay! Tummy is getting bigger (It FEELS much bigger too!) Can feel baby's subtle movements more frequently. Experienced cramps on my feet (after a long walk) and a bit of pain on my tailbone once in a while (when I was pregnant with Anya, the pain only started around my 35th week!) |
Week 21 Definitely look 'more' pregnant than before (can't fit into my jeans, however 'low' I wear them) Baby's movement is VERY frequent! (compared to when I was pregnant with Anya) Other than that, no other physical complaints (yet...) |
Week 24 Gained close to 3kg. Occasional pain on the tailbone or my right hip area (especially after sitting down for quite sometime). Have started feeling some quick 'Braxton Hicks contractions' too (read: hardening of your lower tummy) Last week's scan showed the baby's putting his thumb into his mouth (again! This is the 2nd time we caught him in the act) |
Week 27 Gained 4.2 kg overall! According to the doctor's estimation, the baby's around 1000grams right now. No swelling on the legs so far too! |
Week 29 Baby's kicks are getting stronger now. Still moves a LOT. Definitely feeling more braxton-hicks contractions everyday! |
Week 30 Went for a check up and apparently I did NOT gain weight over the past 3 weeks (??) Estimated baby's weight: 1,3kg (up by 300grams). Yay! Baby's turned his head downwards! Yay! No swellings on legs, hands or fingers. Occasional bleeding of gums begins Mild 'middle-of-the-night' cramps on both calves last week. |
Week 33 |
Week 35 Finding a cosy sleeping position gets harder: - Need to elevate head level during sleep to avoid a feeling of 'breathlessness' - Need to be surrounded by lots of pillows Not much appetite lately Gags when bending down to pick up something (kinda normal I guess, since you're pressing on to the bulging tummy!) Still haven't re-arranged bedroom and baby cot! My hospital bag is ready though! :) |

Week 37 Feeling VERY pregnant |
