It’ll be fun and precious to keep track of her growth over time =)
“Thanks” to today’s gadgets, more and more kids tend to say, “I don’t know what I’m good at. I don’t know what I like. I’m not interested in anything actually.” (But somehow they are interested …

It’ll be fun and precious to keep track of her growth over time =)
Parents,
Let’s remember how we are ‘husband and wife’, too, not just ‘Daddy and Mommy’.
Too often, we unintentionally create habits at home where we do our ‘Daddy-Mommy’ duties well, but they are in fact ‘unhealthy’ for our ‘husband-wife’ relationships.
Habits like:
– Wife sleeps with baby/kids, no longer sleeping on same bed with husband
– Husband accompanies kids to bed, and sleeps there with the kids. If this happens almost ‘every night’, minimal time is given to build ‘husband-wife’ relationship and communication (in our already busy day-to-day routines)
– Husband and wife talk ‘only about the kids’ and not share personal struggles and thoughts
Over time, such habits potentially create wide gaps in husband-wife relationships.
…
Getting married is easy.
Keeping the love, romance, communication (and fun!) in a healthy marital relationship takes a lot of effort, time, energy, commitment, sacrifice, self denial, humour, forgiveness, and of course prayers, from BOTH parties.
May God have mercy on us all, and our marriage.
Public speaking and storytelling.
It can be a fun experience to some, and a dreaded one for others.

Glad to have had the opportunity to share knowledge, tips and skills with younger generation, with a hope to inspire and equip them better for challenges ahead.
Anya started learning how to play the piano at the age of eight and a half.
‘Isn’t it a little late?’, some people say.
To us, the timing was right for her, because it was around 9 months since we relocated to Jakarta, and Anya was old enough to know her responsibilities IF we’re to send her to piano lessons.
(At the time and over the years, we explained to her how if she’s to have piano lessons, she’d need to practice daily, without us ‘forcing’ her to do it. If we had to force her to practice, it means she no longer sees the point of learning and doesn’t wish to learn anymore, and to us, that means it’s probably time to consider stopping her lessons altogether and allocate the funds for other activities)
…
Anya had her piano recital recently, a time when she and fellow students of her piano teacher performed in front of others.
A great opportunity, I thought, for all these young girls and boys to learn how to play in front of others, share their music as well as learn to conquer their anxiety and stage frights, if any.
Anyway, I’m thankful too that I had the opportunity to share our family’s beliefs and principles with fellow parents.
Thoughts like, why we sent Anya to piano lessons, what we shared with her and the importance of learning more about commitment and self-discipline, etc.
Blessed.
Such a huge privilege to be part of this historical event – 500th anniversary of the Reformation!
By God’s grace husband and I were part of this big team of volunteers, serving and working to ensure the week-long event goes well.
(Everyone played their roles, and I personally was encouraged to see so many fellow volunteers worked so tirelessly!)
Please do pray that many (ALL) who have attended this event be blessed, re-fired, recharged, awakened and REFORMED!

If this pattern continues, my kids will each have … 2 kids? =D

Anyway.
Such a blessing to still have ‘4 generations’ in my family.
I love teaching children.
I know it is a passion, a calling God has placed in my heart, something I discovered close to two decades ago when I first taught Sunday School classes.
Over the years, with children of my own, I discover how raising and educating young ones take so much effort, time, and loads of God’s grace and mercy, too.
There are (many) super tough and mentally draining, frustrating moments. It’s not always sweet and nice.
The more I study and learn about something, the more I discover how I don’t know much about anythingOne thing I learn for sure, though.
I learn SO much from teaching others!
And I discover how, the more I study and learn about something, the more I discover how I don’t know much about anything! There’s so much that I don’t know!
I also discover the joy of sharing, too. Amongst many other things, of course.

Anyway, the above photo was when I had the opportunity to present a few paintings at Sophilia Fine Arts Center to school children and shared with these young ones more about them. A blessed opportunity indeed.
(Btw, if your school is keen to let students appreciate and learn arts at Sophilia Fine Arts Center, you can always get in touch with me for more info. Educational and fun! =)
I realise something recently:
Too often, we fail to appreciate our own country’s athletes – people who train hard everyday to represent our country in their respective sports. There’s simply not enough media coverage, exposure and sponsors!
And so, I personally found it really nice to have done some shoots (by Wilson) and an interview with these 4 fine ladies yesterday, Indonesia’s top 5 national tennis players!
And btw, here’s more!
There will be a FREE event on Saturday, 9 December morning at Kuningan (UMS 80 Tennis Court) called ‘Jakarta Tennis Experience’!
Simply bring along your own tennis gear and play with these players, get tips and inspiring sharing, and enjoy some fun games!
Yes, it’s FREE!
Mark your calendar: Saturday, 9 December 2017, 9am – 12pm!
Let’s support our athletes, and inspire our young ones to do more sport activities, to explore tennis as a sport and as something fun to do!
Don’t miss it! =)

And here’s the interview:
Are you a Mom?
Do you feel like your day-to-day ‘job’ is pretty much … IT?
The ‘same old chore’?
Laundry. Diaper changing. Mopping. Laundry. Cooking. Sending and picking up the kids. Laundry *again*!
I read about this analogy …
Many may not care, but when animals are hit or treated like they are worthless non-living things, I can’t help but feel disturbed.
Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, I know humans …
‘Gee, I can’t talk to my kids! They simply don’t listen to me!’
‘They just don’t obey me!’
‘I can’t get through to my kids.’

I guess we are now closer to ‘reality’ than 17 years ago.
