‘Are any of you wise and understanding?
You should show it by living a good life.
Wise people aren’t proud when they do good works.’

“Thanks” to today’s gadgets, more and more kids tend to say, “I don’t know what I’m good at. I don’t know what I like. I’m not interested in anything actually.” (But somehow they are interested …

I can say that we take public transports very often. And I think the transport system here in Singapore is pretty good and organised!
It’s clean, the bus seats are comfortable, 98% of the buses air-conditioned (in fact, it’s too cold sometimes!). The ez-link system (‘tap and go’ card) allows us to board and get off the bus much faster too.
Earlier today I was browsing through the net, trying to find out some information on bus routes and stuff, as we needed to go somewhere and we’re not familiar with the area.
Everything was basically there on the net. How to get from A to B. Where we can board the buses. How long the journey will be. The fare. The list of bus stops, etc. And although it took me about 10 – 15 minutes to get all the info I needed, I still think it’s great!
Anyway, here’re the links just in case you need them too:
> SBS Transit – buses, LRT, NEL MRT
> SMRT buses (used to be called TIBS)
Anya had another cousin last Monday, August 29th! (read: Wilson’s brother’s baby girl). Keira Abigail Hidayat!
Her mommy had a caesarian section done on her 38th week of pregnancy because the baby’s umbilical cord went around her neck. To have a normal delivery could be dangerous to the baby as the cord may tighten around her neck during the contractions.
Anyway, we all are glad that everything went well. Both mom and daughter are doing great!
Another amazing process of child birth. Another beautiful story of God’s love, blessings and providence.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
I’m not sure what got into her just before she went to bed today. She came up to me, gave me a kiss and left giggling away. Then she went to the dining chair, kissed it and giggled away again.
She did the same thing to our door, cabinet, sofa, dining table …
I guess some kids are just … so full of love sometimes, that they just have to share it with everyone and … everything? Hehe.
Last month Baby Plus magazines were out and some of Anya’s photos were there
(note: It’s an annual magazine issued by the same publisher as Motherhood magazine).
The photo shoot was done last April.
And oh .. fyi, on that bottom left photo, it was me, the one who’s spoon-feeding Anya. Haha. Me, the ‘hand model’!
Anya’s been unwell these past few days. Her nose’s been runny since last week, and just when it got better yesterday, she started coughing. Quite phlegmy too.
Poor kid. She coughs but she can’t get the phlegm out of the throat. I guess it’s pretty annoying to feel something’s stuck on the throat, choking you, but there’s nothing you can do about it.
I notice quite a lot of other people’s kids also have a runny nose or a cough right now. I’m not sure if it’s because of the unfriendly weather we have right now, the haze or the ashes from the burning joss-sticks and fake paper money (note: Most Chinese regards this month as the ‘Hungry Ghost‘ month).
Perhaps it’s just because the flu season is back right now.
Anyway, here’re some useful info on coughs and cold in kids.
Wilson and I have been attending weekly Bible Class on the topic of ‘Spiritual Formation for Children’, and we’ve been really blessed by every teaching shared by Ev. Maria Mazo.
We learned about SO many important …
Vai and I have been sending Anya to school (and picking her up) since she started nursery early this year.
It’s a 7-minute walk to the bus stop, 7-10 minute bus ride, and another 7-minute walk …
Before Brie was born, people used to ask how I’ll cope with having 3 kids, and I used to reply, ‘I don’t know … I’ll just do it day by day and we’ll see how …
Here’s one parenting book I’d like to recommend today.
First-time Mom, by Dr. Kevin Leman.
Getting off on the right foot – from birth to first grade
After a friend of mine shared how insightful the book …
In marriage (and all relationships, including parent-child relationships), TRUST is needed.
When trust is absent, all attempts to build communication and relation most likely will fail.
Build that trust over time.
And beware, it takes years to build …
As a follow-up on my post last Saturday, here’s one topic from Dr Kevin Leman’s book “First-time Mom” that I’d like to share with you today.
It’s on the role of daddies in the family and …
