Anya: New Year’s Concert 2019 at ICE, BSD

6 January 2019 | Posted in: Daily, Inspirational | No Comment

What a wonderful opportunity given to the public!

Free concert of this kind of standard. Nearly THREE hours of beautiful music, conducted by Dr. Stephen Tong.

And, Anya was so blessed to take a little part in all of this, being part of the Children Choir performing Panis Angelicus.

The year 2019 started well!

These past few days Levi has been SO into making these mazes and he kept on adding the ‘stages’!
(read: Kept looking for used boxes😁)

Here’s what it looks like!

What he used:

– various card boxes (used shoe boxes, cereal boxes, etc)
– liquid glue and scotch tapes
– straws
– cutter and scissors

Have fun!!

Day one of 2019!

Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God has done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one,
And it will surprise you
what the Lord has done.

Nice Gesture from the Government at our Christmas Service

24 December 2018 | Posted in: Daily, In the Media | No Comment

We live in a country where there had been (and are still happening in some areas) religious clashes, tension and pressures.

So, it was indeed nice to have our Indonesian Military (TNI) commander Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto and National Police chief General Tito Karnavian give their speech at our church’s Christmas Service, reassuring Christians of their rights to a safe and peaceful Christmas here 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Very nice gesture from the government. Thank you.

Here’s to a better religious harmony and peace in this country 🙏🏻

Eiger Flagship Store in Bandung, West Java

23 December 2018 | Posted in: Daily, Places to Visit | No Comment

It’s the school holiday.

We want to go out of Jakarta, but not too far.

We are climbing a mountain soon.

So where should we go?

It was a rather spontaneous decision to book a hotel online, pack our own clothes and drive to Bandung for an overnight stay =)

And we’re so happy to have checked out, for the first time, this Eiger shop.

Address:
Jl. DR. Setiabudhi No.84

Lots of year-end discounts, and the place is huge (compared to eiger shops in Jakarta!)

We parked by the road side as the carpark (area right in front of the building) was full.

But anyway, we so ENJOYED browsing around the shop!

To me personally, I enjoyed looking at the different outdoor stuff they have available at the shop.

And because it’s spacious, our 7yo Brie enjoyed looking around the shop, too.

Happy to have found quite a bit of stuff that we need at a bargain.

Anyway.

Our upcoming mountain was Mount Slamet, 3.428m above sea level (going with a group of 30 plus climbers early January 2019)

Looking forward to explore many more mountains out there (If God is willing and if God still gives me good health and strong enough knees!=)

Air Force Run 2018

22 December 2018 | Posted in: Crafts & Activity Ideas for Kids, Food & Health | No Comment

It was 22 December.

And it was the last run of the year … errr, for me anyway =)

You see, I am not a naturally self-motivated runner.

So signing up to this running event motivates me to exercise regularly and run on treadmills, haha.

(Just so that I won’t shamefully collapse half way the 5km run, … yes, and it’s ONLY 5km!)

Here are a few things to share:

– Fee
We signed up as a group of 5 to get the promo deal of Rp170,000 per runner (otherwise, it’d cost Rp200,000 per runner, for the 5K race)

– The race packs were supposed to be mailed to everyone.
The organiser was either overwhelmed by the registration or was badly managed, because we only received our race packs at 6pm, a day before the race. Some of our friends didn’t get it in the mail, so they had to queue and get theirs on the actual day.

– Parking
We didn’t know where exactly was the starting point, so we parked our car at the first carpark we spotted at Halim Perdana Kusuma, together with other runners.

Talk about the blind leading the blind!

Our car was apparently parked 2.5km AWAY from the starting point! So, after our long walk (our warm-up!), we joined the race immediately, and afterwards, we walked 2.5km back to our car.

Input to the organiser: more signages from the entry of Halim Perdana Kusuma, please?

So, would we join Air Force Run 2019, if they organise it again?

Hehe, yeah I think so.

We love the fact that we could run with views of real planes around us.

Photo opportunities with the military crew were great, too!

O btw, I didn’t realise that it’s Mother’s Day here in Indonesia … so the medal was kind of ‘timely’, hehe =)Here’s to all Moms out there! 💪🏻💪🏻

Nurturing Marriage: Pray and BUILD IT

9 January 2018 | Posted in: Inspirational, Marriage & Relationships | No Comment

Every marriage is potentially fragile.
‘Pray to God for providence, help and mercy on your marriage!‘, would be the common advice given by people of the faith.
I absolutely agree with the advice.
It is something that we …
