New Year’s Eve in Jakarta : Families. Fireworks. Fire Sparklers.

Hubby. Kids. Sisters. And their families.
This year, we spent our New Year’s Eve with families, plus … fire sparklers, super loud horns, watching fireworks, from the roadside.
(PS : Unless you don’t mind getting stuck in traffic jams for hours, we recommend staying AWAY from Jakarta’s CBD and other main roads)
Right here in Jakarta, you’d be able to hear super loud bangs and see random fireworks practically EVERYWHERE.
Starting from around … 9pm!
Blame it on its poor government laws, I guess … because really, anyone could buy fireworks and shoot them off to the sky!

Yes it’s dangerous, but at the same time, I must say, it’s an amazing experience!
Fireworks, over a period of 3 – 4 hours, climaxing at 12 midnight.
Yep, that’s Jakarta on December 31st alright!

Anya and Vai stayed awake all the way till past midnight, and for the first time, they experienced New Year’s Eve, the Jakarta way.
They’re very impressed.
In a good way =)
