Exploring Our Children’s Potentials

While Vai was napping away, Anya asked if we could do some arts and crafts together.

And when I asked what she’d like to make if she were to make something that she could wear or use, she thought about it for while, and said, ‘Let’s make a ring!’

And that’s what we made. A woolen ring!

It wasn’t complicated. Do give it a go with your little ones yeah!

What we used :

– Paper carton (We used our cereal box)

– Strands of wool

– Glue and scissors

What we did:

– I cut a 1.5cm-wide strip off the paper carton

– I made a roll out of the strip (see top photo), and I checked to see that it fitted Anya’s ring finger before I glued the end of the paper carton

– I tied the wool strand to the paper roll and showed her how to use her fingers to push the wool strand in and out of the roll so that all surfaces are covered

– When she covered it all with wool strands, I tied a knot and ensured it’s not loose.

That’s it!

It’s a great exercise too for a child’s fine motor skill, hand-eye coordination, and concentration skill.

And it sure gives a nice feeling to the child when she wears her own hand-made creation!
