Vai : 27 months
> Vai now talks a lot. He expresses his wants and feelings rather well. Some of his words are not yet clearly pronounced though, and I think so far Anya and I are his best ‘language decoders’, hehe.
> These days he can really whine. He can also tell us how he wants certain things to be done (or NOT done).
For example, if my hand is rested on his shoulder, he can frown and say to me, “Mommy, tangannya jangan taro disitu dong …” (Indonesian for : ‘Mommy, don’t put your hand there please’). Or when we are inside a car and I lock the door, he can complain and whine, telling me NOT to do it because HE wants to lock the door himself.
> His phlegmy cough still lingers and his runny nose (all started some three weeks ago and has gotten better when we were in Bali) has made a comeback too. The bad weather here doesn’t quite help, I guess. Vai’s temperature went up and down, for a good four days, when we came back from our Bali trip. Thank God his temperature didn’t soar too much though. Didn’t go past 39 degrees celsius, and he’s still his happy and active self most of the time. Which is a good sign, I guess.
[We went to see a doctor and he said that for cases like dengue fever and typhoid, one needs to be feverish for about five to six days before you can take a blood test to confirm. The infected person will most likely be weak physically too]
Anyway.
Our 27 months with Vai has been full of ups and downs. But we thank God for all the strengths He faithfully provides everyday, because without Him, we can never raise a child. Let alone two children whom He entrusted in our care. So yes, we definitely thank God for everything.
PS: The photo above was taken a day before we left for Jakarta. He’s so much slimmer now though, having lost some 0.8kg over the past 10 days! He’s now 14.5kg.

Yes I can totally emphatise with you! The kids are somewhat more ‘difficult’ when they’re not well … Vai’s not into drinking his milk too so far.
Both Anya and Vai are by now better, but not totally well. The runny nose and phlegms somehow stick around the kids for a VERY long time!

Thank you. And hey hey, congratulations on your 2nd pregnancy!! Hope everything goes smoothly (or at least for your case, gets much better really really soon!)
Hope you’re well and healthy too throughout ya!
Hi Leonny, everytime i saw u marked Vai’s milestones, i really thank God deep down inside for overseeing our lil’ ones thru the good & bad times.
Btw, i found myself 6wks expecting but the 2nd is not as easy. I thank God still bringing us this far and will pray for stability thru the 1st trimester.
Wish Vai good health and gain back his weight soon. God bless.
ya.. my elder daughter just recovered not long ago from high fever and sore throat and now goes my son…
but his case is more worst… besides fever up and down, loss of appeitie as well as rejecting milk. coughing like nobody’s biz.. clinging like nv before.. i hope i can still hang one there!
but well, lets all hope they will recove in no time!

Will has always been the more soft spoken one ya … (but loves to hug his friends hehe).
As for Vai’s language development, may be it’s part of being the younger sibling?
You know, right now he has even picked up the art of replying in a ‘rude’ tone of voice (eg. I DON”T WANT! I WANT TO STAY HERE!’) … sigh. And so these days I deal and ‘teach’ TWO small people on how to talk and reply others in a ‘normal’ manner. And having a sore throat and a hoarse voice do make things rather tough for me
Hey Vai’s language development is advanced! Will still speaks like a ‘little’ kid ๐ and is very soft spoken!

hehehe … haircutnya rather short this time round ๐ jadi ga perlu potong2 terus terlalu sering hehe
soal ngomong indo, mgk krn gua and wilson and anya semua ngomong indo, makanya vai jg otomatis ngomong indo? same with anya. jadi from day one, gw ga ada masalah ttg mereka ngomong indo. kl lu and hubby kan ngomong inggris jg, jadi JL ikut2 ngomong inggris juga jadinya, mgk?
gua tau ada family yg bener2 pengen strict ajarin anaknya ngomong indo (krn di reply dlm bhs inggris terus kl diajak ngomong indo, though udah diminta reply in indo). and so, parentsnya ga ‘respond’ kl anaknya ngomong inggris ke mereka. cuma kalau anaknya ngomong indo ke mereka baru mereka respond (dgn gitu, anaknya mau ga mau belajar ngomong gitu ceritanya).
ga tau yah .. tiap family beda2 jg sih yah … that seems to work well with that family though.

Hi! Thanks for leaving a comment!
In no time, your son will probably keep talking too and you’ll be overwhelmed by your two chirping kids hehehe
Oh good to hear your son is well again!! The weather there i heard hasn’t been too friendly either.
And thanks, yes i hope my kids are well again soon too … it’s affecting their mood and appetite.
Hmm… my 28mth old son only knows single vocabulary and doesn’t know how to construct anything into sentences yet…. compared to 27-mth old Vai ๐
He has also recently recovered from his flu, but his fever then was extremely high — over 40 deg!!
Hope Vai gets well soon ๐
wah, potong rambut yah vai… model tentara, hehehe.
jago yah ngomongnya. dia mau ngomong indo yah, Le? bingung nih gw. pdhal gw tiap kali ngomong ama JL udah ngomong indo, tp skg dia tiap kali balesin gw inggris mulu. pdhal blm msk skolah, apalagi ntar klu udah mulai skolah ya, takut ilang gw indonya dia. gimana cara elu, anya dan vai bs ngomong indo balik ke elu?
