Vai’s first bruise

1 April 2007No Comment

Ah. Now there it is. Vai’s first bruise.

He’s been actively climbing and pulling himself up on nearly EVERYTHING these past 2 weeks and today he kinda … tumbled down while standing and holding onto his Baby Gym. Got himself a little bruise and a teeny scratch on his left eyelid.

Good thing I didn’t panic when it all happened. I quickly picked him up, hugged, breastfed and compressed the bruise with ice cubes wrapped in clean cloth.

Sigh.

Him being so active and all, I can already imagine how he’d sure be getting lots of knocks and falls.

Yes we all know little accidents happen and more of than not, they happen in a flash and are unavoidable.

But when I saw him today with this little purplish bump on his eyelid, ah … I couldn’t help but felt all soft inside. Felt like giving him lots of hugs and kisses to make him feel better (though he most probaly felt completely okay real soon afterwards!)

Sigh.

Gotta get myself prepared for more in the years to come, I guess.

And in the mean time, Vai continues to look like he’s wearing a nice shade of purple eyeshadow now!
