When my 4year-10mth-old girl plans her future
I was preparing dinner when Anya sat on the kitchen top nearby and asked:
Anya : “Mommy, where did you buy that rice cooker?”
Me : “Errr, I can’t quite remember. I think your auntie gave it to me. Why?”
Anya : “Oh, because I don’t know where to buy such things for my own home later”
Me : “Your own home? Oh okay. And who are you going to stay with there?”
Anya : “With my husband and children, of course!”
*it was as if she’s giving such an obvious answer to a silly question*
Me : “Oh with your children too. And what do you do when you have children?”
Anya : “I will take care of the house, and I’ll work. From home. Just like you, Mommy”

Alicia :
You know I was thinking, your kids are so used to having a big family, I’d imagine them having a big family of their own too, and wow … what a huge family gathering you’ll have some twenty – thirty years from today! It’s going to be so much fun!!

I think Anya’s going through that ‘imagine-what-the-future-is-going-to-be-like’ phase! ๐

Samantha :
Anya’s turning 5yo in 3 months time, and I do see how she imagines things and asks tricky questions a lot lately! Part of her growing up huh …

Kids (read: preschoolers) do say the most interesting things, don’t they ๐
Your moments with Jodie will happen real soon …

Nic :
Yes, I agree … such a huge responsibility ya – though as you said, rewarding too – being our kids’ role model…especially since we ourselves make mistakes too
Gotta keep learning and changing for the better …

hehe…your daughter said that? so cute! May be one day we should put together the stuff that these little kids say! That would be an entertaining!
It is so true how children (esp girls) look up to their mums as what they want to be (except for me!).
My girl (almost same age as Anya) came to my office one day. Ater the visit, she told me “mummy, i like your office very much. Can you tell your boss to let me have your office when i grow up?” haahaa…told her she has to study hard then!
Awww…..that’s so sweet!!! Yes, sometimes i do notice kristy imitates me when she’s role playing with her soft toys.
Sound so cute…..
hahahaha…. lucu amat sih anya… gw ga bs brenti ketawa. kok bisa2nya mikirin sampe jauh gitu, bilangin anya, ntar gw donate rice cooker deh. hahaha.
Clearly, our kids look upon on us and hope to be like us! Such a big responsibility to be a good model, and a rewarding one.
so cute! makes me wonder wat my jodie wil say when she’s older!! Thanks for sharing, leonny.
Oh that is sooo sweet – she wants to be like mummy! That’s great compliments to you ๐
That’s scary! Our kids grow up so fast:p
hahaha……. talk about early education ๐
How sweet!! It’s amazing how our kids will emulate what they see!!!
