Vai : Early Photography Days

8 January 20094 Comments

Anya got her hands on our digital camera soon after she turned two years old. I remember how she was the one who took some of my ‘pregnant tummy’ photos and how she managed to capture some cool ‘dolphin-like’ light trail shots too!

And I guess, it is kind of contagious, because Vai asked to hold our (pocket) digital cameras and take photos with them when he turned two years old too.

Really, I’ve got today’s digital camera technology to thank for. Because if we were still in the ‘film era’, I don’t think our kids could explore and experiment with photography like they do today!

    Nic :

When I let 2yo Anya hold my old digital camera last time, I told her she MUST put the lanyard around her neck before she could hold the camera. You know, just in case she accidentally dropped it (and yes thanks to the lanyard, the camera was ‘saved’ from hitting the ground a few times)

Until today, when Anya and Vai also must put the strap around their wrists before they can take photos with my Ixus camera 🙂

Can’t apply same approach when they hold my phone camera though huh? … 🙂

If I pass my camera to Will, he would probably be trying out all buttons randomly or even throw it to the floor! Even if he managed to take any pic, it would be the ground or his feet, not like Vai who knows where’s the ‘subject’! Hahaha…
