Making : Balloon Lady
The other day the kids and I did this arts and crafts thing together.
We made a Balloon Lady!
What we used:
> A balloon (for the ‘head’)
> Crepe paper, cut to strips – approx. 1.5cm wide (for the ‘hair’)
> Glue
> Coloured cartons (for the eyes and mouth)
After I inflated the balloon and cut the cream-coloured crepe paper, the kids started smearing some glue on the top of the balloon.
I opened up the strips of crepe paper and the kids put the long strips across the top.
Oh btw, I cut out some shorter and wider strips too for the fridge and back of the head.
I then cut out these shapes : two oval eyes and a crescent smiley mouth. Anya then did the gluing and pasting onto the balloon.
And VOILA!
Here’s a big Hello from the Balloon Lady!!

Hi Fay!
Thanks for leaving such an encouraging comment!
Do keep in touch! Especially when you do move back to Singapore one day! ๐
Thanks Fiona! ๐
I’m always so impressed and inspired by your craft ideas for your kids. Keep up the good work!
Also, I’m always encouraged by how you and Wilson chose to live your lives (with your kids) in Singapore: choices you’ve made like choosing not to have a maid, choosing to stay home to raise your children, ways you choose to relate to your kids and teach them, etc…. I know it was a decision made as a result of your faith …. thank you for showing me that it is possible to live life differently (than the regular family) in Singapore. It gives me some hope for what life might be like if and when we move back to Singapore.
Press on, my friend!
it’s cute!! ๐
